    How To Prepare the Flow of Paper ?
    • Each manuscript must be complete and final. All pages must be numbered consecutively. 
    • Each manuscript should include the following components, which should be presented in the order listed.
      • Title, author(s) name(s), affiliation, and email address of the first author. The affiliation should be concise as possible.
      • Abstract summarizing the conclusion and methods.
      • Text divided into sections, each with a separate heading and numbered consecutively.
      • Acknowledgment as concise as possible.
      • References should be arranged alphabetically without numbering. The text citation should consist of the name of author and year of publication.

    How to Submitt to PORSEC 2000
  • electronic versions as one or more files for text and seperate files for figures & tables  (see below for more information on files)
  • the hard copy version of text, figures and tables.

  • Hard copies shouls be mailed to PORSEC Secreteriat
    Manuscript should be sent in both the formats.

    Electronic Submission
    Electronic version of the manuscript (separate files for text and figures) may be submitted either by uploading on the anonymous ftp or sending them as attachments to emails or on any of the following media
     

  • Floppies/CD ROM
    •  3 ½” 1.44 MB DOS formatted floppies.
    •  CD ROM (standard ISO 96001 format for windows 95/98/NT or for UNIX O/S such as Solaris, IRIX, etc.)
    •  and for UNIX O/S such as Solaris, IRIX, etc.7. 
    • All floppies and CDROMs should have a label with manuscript number,  author name and title of the paper. If more than one floppy is used then all should be numbered. For example if 4 floppies are used, then the first floppy should have a number 1/4, the second floppy should have a number 2/4 and so on.

  • FTP

  • To upload files using ftp follow the following steps. Type the commands given in  red color 
      • ftp 164.100.189.6
      • anonymous at the user prompt 
      • youremail ID (authors e-mail id) at the password prompt
      • change directory to pub/ porsec cd pub/porsec
      • create directory by author name  mkdir author name (please use first author's name to create the directory) 
      • change directory to author name cd author name(author name)
      • set to binary transfer binary or bin 
      • put filename  (filename is the name of file you want to transfer , repeat put filename for all the files)

      • Type exit/by  to exit from ftp.
    Files
    We strongly encourage submission of  text and graphics as a seperate files with proper identification for the graphics & figugers in the text. Any word processor  may be used to create the text file if it can generate the RTF (Rich text format) file. Do not embed figures in the text. 

    Prepare graphics at publication quality resolution, using applications that are capable of generating TIFF or EPS files 
     


    Dealine for paper submission 
    Papers should be submitted on or before 31 July 2000.

    Guidelines for submitting paper
    1. The total length of the manuscriptshould NOT exceed 6 pages (standard A4; 21cm x 29.7cm paper sheet) in print form, inclusive of text, figures, tables (times roman, 10 point will be used for printing).

    2. Please supply two versions of the manuscripts 

    (i) electronic versions (separate files for text, figures and tables) and
    (ii) the hard copy version of text, figures(seperate sheets)  and tables (by airmail).
    3. Any word processor that can generate the RTF (Rich text format) file may be used. Do not embed figures in the text. 

    4. Any application software that is capable of creating TIFF (uncompressed), JPEG or EPS files may be used to generate high quality illustrations in colour or gray tones. The line drawings are acceptable as BMP files.

    5. Avoid compressing of files. If unavoidable, use WinZip or GNU gzip or UNIX compress .

    6. Please supply good hard copies of the figures. They will be used if  the electronic files are found unsuitable for reproduction.

    7.  All floppies and CDROMs should have a label with manuscript number,  author name and title of the paper. If more than one floppy is used then all should be numbered. For example if 4 floppies are used, then the first floppy should have a number 1/4, the second floppy should have a number 2/4 and so on.

    8. Indicate the position of the figures and tables in the right margin (hard copy version).

    9.Please read the text and figures carefully as proofs will not be sent to the authors for corrections.

    10. Each manuscript must be complete and final. All pages must be numbered consecutively. Each manuscript generally includes the following components, which should be presented in the order listed.

    1. Title, author(s) name(s), affiliation, and email address of the first author. The   affiliation  should be as concise as possible.
    2. Abstract summarizing the conclusion and methods.
    3. Text divided into sections, each with a separate heading and numbered consecutively.
    4. Acknowledgment as concise as possible.
    5. References should be arranged alphabetically without numbering. The text citation should consist of the name of author and year of publication.
    11. In the listing of references, each reference must be complete. For an article: author (s), year, title of article, title of journal, (abbreviated and in italics), volume number, and pages. For a book: author (s), year, title of book(in italics), city of publication, publisher, and pages.

    12. Each figure must have an adequate legend, and all legends should be typed together on one or more sheets of paper.

    13.Each figure and tables should be mentioned specifically in the text. Figure number and legend will be type set and should not be the part of the drawing. All figures will be reduced to fit within single column (7.5 cm) or double column (10.5 cm to a maximum of 15.0 cm). Indicate figure number, name of author (s) and manuscript number on the reverse of the hard copy of the figure.

    14. Colour photographs, illustrations and art works are highly discouraged. However, if  unavoidable, colour figures/ illustrations can be allowed on payment of US$ 60 or Rs. 2500 per figure/ illustration.

    15. Mathematical symbols and formulae should be composed carefully and with utmost economy.
